At Lotus Oasis Retreats our intention is to help individuals reach their optimal level of wellbeing to lead a happier more joyful life. To obtain this optimal level of wellbeing, an individual must have a common measure, or symmetry, between themselves and the world around them. This symmetry, or harmonious arrangement, is accomplished by balancing consumption of experiences through the all six senses. Everything around us is an experience waiting to be absorbed through our six senses. Having too much, or too little, of an experience can cause an imbalance in our lives and, in turn, creating an over abundance of stress. This abundance of stress is the primary cause of emotional and physical health issues in our world today.
|
|
Through various mind-body and spirit retreats, workshops and classes we intend to support individuals to identify their imbalance... to empower them to create healthy and happy life choices... to encourage them to seek balance in everyday life... to identify the mutual connections they have between themselves and the world around them to create long lasting and loving relationships. We know by supporting individuals to embrace their optimal level of wellbeing we in turn encourage our own optimal level of wellbeing. |

Lotus Oasis' yoga classes provide a moderate intensity practice of stretching movements and breathing techniques suitable for all levels of fitness, especially those who think they can't "do" Yoga.
It isn't about getting your body into a human pretzel. It is about working from where you are and progressing over time using modifications to accommodate your range of motion.

Our introduction to meditation classes are offered weekly at our Mountain Center and give you a sense of what meditation is without need for prior experience. The class gives you the opportunity to learn about different meditation systems and gives you an understanding of what we teach here at the center. We practice primordial sound Meditation that uses the Vedic teachings and goes back over 5000 years.
Most of us are living hectic lives. The pressures of modern living are relentless. The pressure to perform well in school, college and university, leads to even more pressure in work. The pressures to perform well in work usually end up coming home with us. Our family life can suffer, putting even more pressure on our precious family relationships.
The wonders of modern technology have made it so much easier to communicate, yet, it seems harder than ever to get our message across.

So, how can meditation really change anything?
Well, think of it like this...
Have you ever been on a speeding, non-stop train as it rushes through a train station? Have you ever tried to read the name of the station? It's difficult isn't it? It's almost impossible. You see, you are going too fast. And unless you slow down, you will never be able to read the signs. No matter how hard you try. No matter how important it is. You will miss all the signs.
Meditation will slow you down. It will provide you with more awareness and stimulate creativity. This in tern will help you live a more purpose driven life.

~ Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga ~
The Sanskrit word yoga means union - union of environment, the senses, body, mind, and soul. This union is described in an ancient text known as the Yoga Sutras, written by the sage Patanjali who explains that yoga is the progressive settling down of the mind in the field of pure silence, which is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind.
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga integrates 5,000-year-old Vedic wisdom and the yogic interpretations of Drs. Chopra and Simon. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga is a consciousness-based Hatha yoga program infused with teachings from Dr. Chopra's classic bestseller The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Hatha Yoga is the study of the Asanas or postures based on Patanjali's Eight Limbs of Yoga. Our program offers a balanced approach that pays attention to the needs of the individual. We guide students to experience body-centered restful awareness in their practice.

~ Primordial Sound Meditation ~
At Lotus Oasis Retreats we offer instruction in Primordial Sound Meditation, a powerful meditation technique rooted in the Vedic tradition of India. Chopra Center co-founders Deepak Chopra and David Simon have revived this ancient practice of sound meditation and made it available in a format that is easy to learn.
When you learn Primordial Sound Meditation, you will receive a personal mantra. A mantra is a specific sound or vibration, which when repeated silently, helps you to enter deeper levels of awareness. A Sanskrit term that translates as "vehicle of the mind", a mantra truly is a vehicle that takes you into quieter, more peaceful levels of the mind.
The mantra you will receive is the vibration the universe was creating at the time and place of your birth, and it is calculated following Vedic mathematic formulas. When you silently repeat your mantra in meditation, it creates a vibration that helps you slip into the space between your thoughts, into the complete silence that is sometimes referred to as "the gap". Your mind is no longer caught up in its noisy internal chatter and is instead exposed to its own deepest nature: pure awareness.
As many studies show, a regular meditation practice offers numerous health benefits, including lowering blood pressure, strengthening the immune system, and releasing stress and fatigue. In fact, meditating for half an hour provides more psychological rest than a full night's sleep. As you meditate on a regular basis, you will notice an increased sense of well-being as well as greater energy and creativity.
